The Group of Them All Is Not Who Can Justify Us

Abstract
In this paper I discuss Robledo's view on the relation between global consensus and justification. Against Robledo, I show that a situation that combines global consensus and lack of justification is not at all conceivable. My thesis is that the situation in question requires that the lack of justification should be noticed by either a potential or an effective member of a community of people sharing a set of epistemic norms. If no justification is available, the game of giving and asking for reasons has not been cancelled, which in turn excludes the possibility of global consensus.
