Justification as a Social Fact
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper I defend ethnocentrism of epistemic justification against criticisms sustained by Putnam and Kalpokas. My main objection to Putnam/Kalpokas' position is that they can't combine their idea about the contingent and historical character of epistemic standards with their critics to epistemic contextualism. I conclude that most of Kalpokas' objections to ethnocentrism are due to the confusion between partial and global consensus.
