The Reception of the Debate on Rational Reconstructions and Contextual Reconstructions in 1988: Notes Towards a History of Mexican Philosophical Historiography
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article I analyze the reception of Rorty’s article “The Historiography of Philosophy: Four Genres” in Diánoia 34, published in 1988. I intend to show how, based on this article, the authors of the texts proposed new theses that serve as antecedents for two trends widely disseminated in Mexico’s historiography of philosophy: Benitez’s Cartesian school and Beuchot’s analogical hermeneutics. With this, the text seeks to deepen the study and understanding of the historiography of philosophy in Mexico during the second half of the 20th century.
