Abstract
This paper discusses Guillermo Hurtado’s contribution towards a better understanding of some epistemological concepts like doubt, belief and suspicion. First of all, I argue that his methodological approach is dogmatical, since he uses ordinary language to settle some philosophical topics. Moreover, ordinary language may not be as clear and precise as he seems to think it is. In the second place, I make some suggestions in his line of thought, not only in the idea of a reasonable doubt, but also in the relations between doubt and inquiry.
