Some Remarks on Moulines’ Nationalism
Main Article Content
Abstract
The author agrees with Ulises Moulines (“Nationalist Manifiesto”,Diánoia, no. 46, 2001) that “nation” is a theoretical concept but puts forward several critical comments that aimed at making this concept more precise. He claims that this task must be based on objective data and that any adecuate definitions of “nation” and “nationalism” have to be univocal and appliable in common law. He also holds that any theoretical proposal on these concepts entails a criticism of the modern idea of a homogenous nation-state and the defence of the project of a plural state.
